Parvati Hill is a hillock which rises to 2,100 feet (640 m) above sea level. Atop the hillock is the Parvati Temple, one of the most scenic locations in Pune. The Parvati temple is the oldest heritage structure in Pune and was built during the rule of the Peshwa dynasty. It is the second highest point in Pune (after Vetal Hill).

The historic Sinhagad Hill & Fort (1312 mtrs) is a part of the Bhuleshwar range of the Sahyadri Mountains. It is a popular trekking destination and serves as the southern backdrop of the city. It represents the history of the conquest of Shivaji and his trusted lieutenant Tanaji Malusare who won the fort back from the Mughals and changed its name from Kondhana to Sinhagad!

Oxford of the East- Pune is the seat of the College of Engineering (COEP), the second oldest engineering institution in India (1854). It houses many universities including Savitribai Phule Pune University, Symbiosis, FLAME, Bharati vidyapith, MIT and many other military educational institutes. The city pioneered universal and women’s education starting from the 1800s and has a large population of students from all over!  Being the cultural capital of Maharashtra the city has always had an intrinsic connection with theatre, music, arts and literature and been a centre of learning and research in all fields.

Shaniwar Wada a 13 storey palace of Peshwas was built by Bajirao-I, in the year 1736.It was head quarter of the Peshwas and it symbolizes Pune’s culture. The structure was built giving security the highest priority. The main entrance is known as ‘Delhi Darwaja’ & others have names like Ganesh, Mastani, Jambhal, Khidki. The statue of Bajirao-i on horse in front of Shaniwarwada.
