Kanha National Park and Tiger Reserve (KNPTR) is a renowned and one of the best tiger reserves of India and the largest national park of Madhya Pradesh, state in the heart of India.
Kanha Tiger Reserve is widely known for its immensely rich biodiversity and undoubtedly for tiger sightings. It has open grasslands and meadows, areas with dense forests, many water bodies and lakes, network of running streams and nalas and under growth vegetation creating ambience and environment viable to support and nurture variety of wild life.
The plate is designed with detailed figures of animals and bird species of the Kanha national park. A face of tiger is inlayed at the center of the plate surrounded by the figures of leopard, Nilgai, rhesus monkey, wild boar, fox, Indian pangolin and Indian gaur (Bos Guarus). Among the deer species, swamp deer (Cervus duavcelli branderi) or hard-ground barasingha is the pride of the place, as it is the only subspecies of swamp deer in India, except the great swamp deer of Sundarbans. Spotted deer/ chital and sambar deer are also commonly seen. Kanha is famous for a variety of bird species also Malabar Pied Hornbill, Rufous treepie, peacock, owl and king fisher.
This decorative plate is handcrafted by the artisans of the Bidri Metalcraft from Bidar in Karnataka. Bidri craft has developed in the 14th century C.E. The metal used is a blackened alloy of zinc and copper inlaid with thin sheets of pure silver.
Cleaning Instruction: Apply few drops of coconut oil on item surface and clean with a dry cotton cloth. Keep away from water and exposure to moisture.
